DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern picked up its fourth-straight win after picking up a 7-2 win over rival East Central on Thursday afternoon at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 12-9 overall on the season and 1-1 in Great American Conference play heading into the regular season finale on April 15 at 1 p.m. against Harding which will serve as senior day.
SE laid the groundwork well for the win with a sweep of the three doubles matches.
That began with an 8-6 win at No. 1 by the duo of
Luka Radulovic and
Tiago Ferreira.
The lead stretched to 3-0 after Martin Bedcarratz and
Filip Pavlovic took an 8-5 decision at No. 2 followed by an 8-5 win by
Laercio Lobo and
Billy Haugen at No. 3.
That success carried into single play where Radulovic cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 to make the lead 4-0.
Pavlovic would seal the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 to make the lead 5-0.
Ferreira would pick up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. five and Haugen would add a 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 win at No. 6 to pick up the sixth and seventh points respectively.
ECU would snag wins at No. 3 and No. 4 to fashion he 7-2 final score.
