Southeastern Set for GAC Championship

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will be looking to close out the regular season strong with a conference championship when it travels to Hot Springs, Ark., for the three-round tournament at the Hot Springs Country Club April 14-16.
 
The Savage Storm have climbed to seventh in the Central region and will be aiming to maintain or move higher to ensure a trip to the Central region tournament in Kenosha, Wisc.  The top 10 teams in the region will advance.
 
SE had its last tournament cancelled due to bad weather conditions in Edmond, Okla., but in its last outing the Storm posted a fourth place finish overall, but finished tops among regional competition in the event with Greyden Blevin posting a second-place finish behind a golfer from Division I Oklahoma.
 
On the year the Storm posted one tournament victory, winning the Bison Fall Golf Classic in Cabot, Ark., hosted by Harding, and have three times posted the best finish among regional schools.
 
Blevins, Jeff Hunter and Matt McIntosh are the only three golfers to have played in all eight tournaments.
 
Blevins leads the club with a 76.11 scoring average with a low round of 70 and four rounds at par or better.  His second place finish is his best and the team's best individual finish on the season.
 
Hunter is averaging a 77.22 in 18 rounds played with three rounds at par or better and a best finish of third on the season.
 
McIntosh is right on Hunter's heels with a 77.28 scoring average in 18 rounds with a low round of 72 and a best finish of 11th.
 
Robert Perry has played I seven of the team's eight tournaments and is second on the squad with a 76.86 scoring average in 14 rounds with a best round of 71 and a best finish this season of sixth.
